Celebrating community, harvest, and connection: a recap of our farm gathering
As I am writing this short article to complement social media, the gallery, our newsletter, and everything we are doing for BMA's digital presence, I remembered waking up Friday morning with the news of the fires close to where the farm is, and honestly, I worried, but then I realized we had to keep going and hope for the best. And the best was indeed coming ☀️
What a breathtaking day we had this past Saturday, Aug 1st. The sun was shining bright over the golden hills, the flower garden was in full bloom, and the energy across the farm grounds was nothing short of magical. From the moment the first guests arrived, our team felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude as we watched our community gather together under open skies and shaded picnic benches to celebrate regenerative agriculture, with music and animals, surrounded by nature.
Throughout the afternoon, there was a shared sense of joy everywhere you looked. Families gathered around tables; I saw baskets filled with plums and vine-ripened tomatoes, while the premium chocolate tastings with our fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate from Lonohana. Kids were laughing and playing around, transforming the energy with colorful face-painting by our friend Zugar Yum Yum, but in general, guests of all ages enjoyed peaceful moments interacting with the two lovely alpacas along the waterfront. Under the shade of the barn structure, acoustic live music by Jesse Hesse and JKL Band floated across the hay bales as friends, old and new, relaxed on floor cushions and soaked in the peaceful setup.
Days like this serve as a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Events like our farm gathering highlight the deep power of community and our shared commitment to regenerative agriculture, soil health, and sustainable land stewardship. Seeing everyone connect over fresh food, natural beauty, and good music strengthens the heart of our mission, and we are profoundly grateful for your ongoing support and enthusiasm in this journey.
